Go Gwen

Well I'm not a big No Doubt fan, but I heard that Gwen Stefani will have a solo album coming out soon. I was kinda curious wot it sounds like so I downloaded the first single called "What You Waititng For". Only after one listen, I LOVE it. It's awesome, it's catchy, and it's fun. It's very 80's, Cyndi Lauper'ish with a really cool dance beat.

It's so exciting to have these people realize that Hip Hop isn't the ONLY way to go nowadays. I’m just sooooo sick of people going solo to make music this genre. C’mon I just want to listen to something fresh.

PS. Help! I can't get the song "Lola's Theme" from Shapelifters out of my head and I’ve been playing it like 40 times today.

Cry

I hate going to the airport...hate saying goodbye to the ones I love.

I was crying like crazy a couple of hours ago at the airport saying goodbye to my best friend from SF. Seemed like he just got here, even though he had been here 3 weeks already. Well he's already left and I even missed him more.

Life goes on...I'm trying my best to be back to normal, but I just don't know how long its gonna take.

Sweet

I've been eating a lot of sweet stuffs lately.
Well I lied. Actually I've been eating a lot of sweet stuffs since I was born! I'm so addicted to them. Sometimes my whole meal is made of different kinds of desserts. Like tonight, my dinner were egg york tarts from the bakery store called Ka-Nom(it means "dessert"). They're so good!!!!!

Actually about 2 hours ago I just finished a whole piece of lemon moose tart and tiramisu at wotk!!!!

Speaking of bakery stores. Here are some of my favorites.
-
Sweet Inspiration (SF) - Sunday afternoon with tiramisu & blueberry tart watching people walking by on Market St. Gosh I was in heaven!
- Ambrosia (SF) - This is the bakery store in the neighborhood I have lived for 7 years. Strawbery cake and chocolate moose cake are yummy. Also don't forget peacan pie - only made to order during Thanksgiving.
-
Crepevine (SF) - Any crepes will do for this place.
- Mooses & ???? something (BKK, Sukhumvit 31) - Cheesecake, especially white chocolate cheesecake - hmmm deliziouso!
- Something Sweet (BKK, Sathorn Soi???) - It could be a relative of Sweet Inspiration in SF cuz its tiramisu is great too.
- Ka-Nom (aka. Dessert ; Siam Square Soi 3) - Well was it second time I mentioned this place?
- Vanilla Industry (Siam Square Soi 11) - Lemon moose tart is a must here.
- Pakkred market, Nontaburi - There is a vendor on the street selling the best
Rotee I've ever had.
- Vendor by the escalator at Saladang BTS station, next to Soi Convent - Sweet sticky rice and egg custard. Damn I can't help myself to buy some of them if I have to get off at this station.

If you excuse me, it's my dessert time now.

SJP and The Gap

As much as I adore this woman - Sarah Jessica Parker, but what the hell was she thinking? It's the Gap for crying out loud. No way I would allow my Carrie Bradshaw to do this.

PS. Congrats to your new job at the Gap, CC!!! Please get her signature for me if you see her, will ya?

Bad bad day

I hate today.....

Part 1. I wanted to spend the whole day with my buddy from San Francisco who just got here yesterday. We had breakfast together, then I got a phone call from my boss asking me to come to office to discuss about work. Like I had other choices...so I had to head to the office immediately. F**k!

Part 2. After finishing discussing with my boss. I ran into the guy from HR whom I expected to hear good news. It turned out to be bad bad news instead. I didn't get the full time position that I applied, even though I was told from a big shot there that I would get this job. Well I couldn't do anything much except nodding and saying "It's ok." F**k it wasn't ok, ok? That's what I really wanted to say.

Part 3. So I stormed out from the office. I realized I had to pick up the shirt from this shop in Siam Square since I told them to got it altered yesterday and they promised me it would be done today. Guess what...I was there at 2.00pm and the store closed. F**k!

Now it's 3.00pm. Will there be anything worse? Just bring them on.

POP...ular

"I'm willing to sleep my way to the top. I wanna be Pop...ular"

Even though I get a giggle every time I hear the first verse of chorus of this song called "Popular", I can't stop loving this song. It's so freaking honest. The foundation of "pop" music is selling out, sacrificing yourself and doing whatever it takes to have people like you. And Darren Hayes unabashedly proclaims that with every line. Well I think at this point in his career he is going to have to pull something extreme just to regain some attention, like before, when Savage Garden still existed.

I also have listened to other new tracks called "Darkness" and "I Like The Way" which are excellent. They are very dark and full of experiment electro sounds. Looks like his new album is going to be good and I really look forward to it.

"Turning pages over
Run away to nowhere
And it's hard to take control
When your enemy's old and afraid of you
You'll discover that the monster you were running from
Is the monster in you
Better to hold on to love
Better to hold on to love
Change will come"
From Darkness by Darren Hayes.

Where is my margarita?

I had dinner last night with Ning and Kate at this trendy bar/restaurant called "Buri Tara". It was quite cool with ambient atmosphere & outdoor big cozy sofas which reminded me a lot of The Abbey in West Hollywood.

Anyway I was craving for margarita, so I rewarded myself by ordering a pitcher of it! After a sip...damn, this was not what I expected. It was nasty. It was only lemonade with a couple drops of tequila!!!

Of course I was kinda disappointed. Then I realized that this is just a typical Thai restaurant, not a Mexican place in San Francisco’s Mission district. I should not have set the standard too high or I should have stuck with a beer since this was not the first time restaurants here screwed up my drinks.

So tonight I'm going to reward myself by making my own vodka martini. I guess I won't be disappointed this time.
